What is upper eyelid surgery?

Upper eyelid surgery improves the appearance of the lids with a surgical procedure. The area surrounding the lids may be made to look younger.

What is treated?
The natural contour of the eyelid may be changed as a result of loose sagging skin and folds. Puffiness may be the result of fat deposits.

Cost
When excess skin of the upper eyelid is performed under local anesthesia in the office, the cost is usually around $2000. Dr Sadove offers Carecredit financing to help patients with the cost. Insurance coverage is not available.

Procedure
You may take a mild oral relaxation pill prior to treatment. The local anesthesia is gently applied and easy to take effect. After the local anesthesia you will not feel the treatment and your eyes will be closed.

Recovery from Eyelid Surgery
Every patient is different, however, there is usually little swelling, bruising, or discomfort after the procedure. You will receive a prescription for mild pain medication if needed. Cold compresses in the first day is important.

Return to Work
Fine stitches are present in the eyelid fold for 5 days. There are easily removed in the office. You may return to work at a computer after one day. Your return to work will depend upon what type of work you do. Here are before & After results of the eyelid surgery.
